Karaoke mode: turning private listening into participation
Synced lyrics and permitted instrumentals can make music something people do together.
From audience to participant
Karaoke changes the relationship with a song. Lyrics become a shared cue, familiar tracks become social, and a listener becomes part of the performance. FreeQue imagines that experience both solo and inside Rooms.
Timing matters: lyrics need to stay aligned, instrumental versions need to be genuinely suitable, and room participants need controls that keep the experience welcoming rather than chaotic.
Rights decide what can be sung
Lyrics and instrumental recordings carry their own permissions. Karaoke mode will appear only on tracks where artists or rights holders explicitly allow it.
The feature is not built today, and no unsupported lyrics are displayed. If recording is ever added, it would be opt-in and governed separately from simply singing along.
